Important Notice Regarding Children: Our Service is designed for use by sports organizations, their administrators, coaches, and parents/guardians. We take the protection of children's information extremely seriously and comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar regulations.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you provide directly when using our Service:
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, password, and organization details when you create an account.
- Organization Data: Information about your sports organization including name, address, contact information, and organizational structure.
- Participant Information: Names, dates of birth, contact information, emergency contacts, medical information (allergies, conditions relevant to sports participation), and other registration details for program participants.
- Guardian Information: Parent/guardian names, contact information, and relationship to participants.
- Payment Information: Credit card details, billing addresses, and transaction history. Payment processing is handled by Stripe, Inc., and we do not store complete credit card numbers on our servers.
- Communications: Messages, emails, and SMS content sent through our platform.
- Uploaded Content: Photos, documents, waivers, and other files you upload to the Service.
1.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use our Service, we automatically collect:
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, browser type, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, actions taken, time spent on pages, and interaction patterns.
- Location Data: General location based on IP address. We do not collect precise GPS location without explicit consent.
- Log Data: IP addresses, access times, referring URLs, and system activity.
1.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information from third-party services you connect to Hurdle, such as calendar applications, or from payment processors regarding transaction status.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information for the following purposes:
- Provide and Maintain the Service: Process registrations, manage programs, facilitate communications, and deliver features you request.
- Process Payments: Complete transactions, send receipts, and manage billing.
- Communications: Send transactional messages (registration confirmations, payment receipts, schedule updates), service announcements, and, with your consent, promotional communications.
- SMS Notifications: Send text messages for appointment reminders, schedule changes, payment confirmations, and other transactional notifications to phone numbers you provide, subject to your consent.
- Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns, troubleshoot issues, develop new features, and enhance user experience.
- Safety and Security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
- Legal Compliance: Comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes.

3. SMS and Communication Consent
By providing your phone number and opting in to SMS notifications, you consent to receive text messages from Hurdle and organizations using our platform. These messages may include:

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or updating your notification preferences in your account settings. Reply HELP for assistance.
We do not sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for their marketing purposes. Your phone number is only used for transactional communications related to your use of the Service.
4. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
Hurdle takes the protection of children's privacy very seriously. Our Service is designed to be used by sports organizations and parents/guardians to manage youth sports programs.
- Parental Consent: Information about children under 13 is collected through their parent or guardian during the registration process. By registering a child for a program, the parent/guardian provides verifiable consent for the collection and use of the child's information as described in this policy.
- Limited Collection: We collect only information necessary for program registration and participation, such as name, date of birth, emergency contacts, and relevant medical information.
- No Direct Marketing to Children: We do not knowingly send marketing communications to children under 13.
- Parental Rights: Parents/guardians may review, update, or request deletion of their child's information at any time by contacting us or accessing their account settings.
- No Unauthorized Disclosure: We do not share children's personal information with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service or as required by law.

- With Sports Organizations: When you register for a program, your information is shared with the organization running that program so they can manage your participation.
- Service Providers: We work with trusted third-party companies that help us operate and improve our Service, including payment processors (Stripe), email providers (Resend), SMS providers (Twilio), cloud hosting (Vercel, Supabase), and analytics services. These providers are contractually bound to use your information only for the services they provide to us.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information when required by law, legal process, or government request, or when we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.
- With Your Consent: We may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their direct marketing purposes.

Organization data is retained according to the organization's settings and applicable record-keeping requirements for youth sports programs.
